SUMMARY
The Multimedia Designer’s role is to design for print, digital and website mediums for Kansas City Kansas Community College. The position reports to the Vice President of Marketing and Institutional Image and directs the photography and video projects at the college. The position supports website development through design and content updates using Cascade Web Solutions.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Design advertising, website, digital and print assets for the college.
  • Coordinate or create college photography, videography and podcasts as needed.
  • Administer the Zoho project management system for Marketing.
  • Manage the maintenance of KCKCC’s content management system (CMS). Support content management system templates.
  • Oversee and implement training for campus contacts on the CMS system. Create technical literature, such as training materials, to encourage department participation in content editing.
  • Assess training through evaluations and by using best standards in CMS training.
  • Edit, correct, and improve photos using photography software.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to create multimedia design projects.
  • Analyze website traffic patterns and provide monthly reports on website performance indicators.
  • Maintain a high level of quality in creating multimedia projects, ensuring accuracy and consistency in the project.
  • Support the college marketing strategy and goals with various other duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or comparable software suites.
  • Knowledgeable in Cascade, CSS and HTML or similar systems.
  • Proficiency in photography and/or videography.
  • Proficiency in digital media design and/or advertising
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to and ability to work with a diverse student and faculty population.
  • High energy, self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail in creating publications.
  • Knowledgeable in Cascade, CSS and HTML or similar systems.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to take feedback and incorporate it into designs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in website design, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in website and multimedia design.
  • Two (2) or more years of full-time work experience using Adobe Creative Suite or related products.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five (5) of related work experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in Cascade, CSS or HTML.
  • Two (2)  years of experience in photography or videography.
  • Experience with community college environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, talk, hear, walk, and sit. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift items.


WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week, during regular hours of Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hour to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours.
