Compensation: $32,759 - $45,044. Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.

SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Custodian II- Floor Technician well be to perform tasks needed and assigned that relate to the cleaning and maintenance of the buildings and grounds.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Cleans assigned facilities, classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, gym, halls, etc.
  • Drives company vehicles on campus to move; equipment, supplies, recyclables, trash and to refuel fleet.
  • Restocks dispensers, pulls trash and recycling materials daily.
  • Prepares, provides coverage and the clean-up of facilities for, classes, conferences, and events.
  • Knowledge of cleaning; procedures, chemicals, supplies, and equipment used for floor care and custodial work.
  • Knowledge of floor care; procedures, chemicals, equipment on carpets and hard surfaces.
  • Ability to read and understand written directions for the mixing, dilutions, and use of hazardous chemicals.
  • Ability to be on time for assigned schedule, on call 24/7 for emergencies and work holidays if needed.
  • Ability to work well with others, with minimal supervision and overnight in buildings by yourself.
  • Ability to adjust schedule, respond and complete task for different types of customer service request.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Custodial Manager which may include light maintenance work.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Operation of motorized maintenance equipment.
  • Occupational hazards and safe working practices.
  • Maintenance cleaning products.
  • Reading and Writing skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff, and members of the public.
  • Follow written and oral instruction.
  • Read simple diagrams.
  • Work independently.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing,
  • pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in general custodial work.
  • One (1) year of floor care experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear motor vehicle record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Custodial experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience working well with a diverse population of students.
  • Customer service – related experience.
  • Three (3) years of floor care experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, talk, listen, walk, and sometimes sit. Occasionally, the employee will bend or twist at the neck more that the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift items. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, and work output.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to focus. This position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.


WORK SCHEDULE
Sunday 6:00AM – 2:30PM, Monday - Thursday 9:00PM-5:30AM. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hours to meet operational needs.
