Compensation: $55,446.46 - $83,169.69 (with a Master’s degree) or $67,822.90 - $95,546.13 (with a Doctorate’s degree). Commensurate with education outlined in the current collective bargaining contract salary schedule.

SUMMARY
Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) is currently searching a full-time faculty member to provide high quality, learner-centered instruction for students enrolled in physical therapist assistant related coursework at any KCKCC location while supporting the institution’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Prepare course syllabi addressing targeted student abilities, specific competencies, textbook requirements, grading/assessment methodology, course scheduling, and/or other items as required.
  • Provide regular, timely reports to students of academic performance including current grades in courses taught.
  • Plan and implement learner-centered instruction in ways that maximize student learning in a Blended/Hyflex environment.
  • Provide learning activities and assessments that meet course and program learning outcomes.
  • Utilize assessment techniques to monitor student progress and success as outlined in the program, division, and college assessment plans.
  • Adhere to KCKCC and CAPTE established deadlines for submitting reports and records related to student learning and student outcomes.
  • Maintain contemporary knowledge of subject matter taught through professional development activities and/or on-going clinical practice when not required to be on campus.
  • Integrate available instructional technology to support student learning.
  • Advise and mentor students in collaboration with the PTA coordinator.
  • Participate in the accreditation process for the PTA program.
  • Attend and participate in division meetings, department meetings, in-services, committees, and college-sponsored events.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the program, division, and total institution by timely attendance and submission of required grade, attendance, or other miscellaneous reports to the administration.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.

  • Knowledge of theory, practice, and trends in assigned teaching content.

  • Able to utilize instructional technology to deliver course content in a Blended/Hyflex modality.
  • Able to assess student performance and progress and to provide appropriate feedback.
  • Able to utilize student-centered teaching to meet the learning needs of a multi-cultural population.
  • Able to promote higher-order thinking and problem-solving among educational participants.
  • Able to work in a student-centered, team environment.
  • Able to multi-task to meet multiple demands.
  • Able to communicate effectively with a multi-cultural population.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or higher in Physical Therapy.
  • Currently licensed as a Physical Therapist in any state and in compliance with the state practice act of Kansas.
  • Five (5) years full-time clinical practice (or equivalent) as a Physical Therapist.
  • Three (3) years teaching experience, either academic or clinical.
  • Clinical experience supervising PTA and/or knowledge of the role of the PTA.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3) years teaching experience in an academic setting.
  • Experience teaching in a PTA program.
  • Experience teaching courses in a Blended or Hyflex modality.
  • Completed professional development or education comprising exclusively and comprehensively the four content areas of: education theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation, and outcome assessment.

WORK SCHEDULE
In alignment with the requirements of the Master Contract and to meet programmatic needs. Primarily during regular hours of Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours.
