JOB CLASSIFICATION
Pay grade level: Grade 12
Compensation: $44,267-$60,867. Commensurate with education and experience.

SUMMARY
To support the goals of Information Services by coordinating IT support services, ensuring reliable technology operations, and providing timely assistance to faculty, staff, and students, particularly at the downtown location.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Technical Support & Service Desk Operations

  • Coordinate daily Information Services support operations and helpdesk activities.
  • Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Monitor, prioritize, assign, and resolve service requests through the college's ticketing system to meet established service-level objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, user access, and technology-related issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between end users and Information Services personnel, facilitating communication and escalation of complex technical issues.
End-User Technology Support
  • Support classroom technologies, computing devices, and related technology resources.
  • Assist with the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and replacement of computers, printers, and peripheral equipment.
  • Support user account onboarding and offboarding processes in coordination with Human Resources and other departments.
  • Assist in providing technology guidance, support, and training to faculty, staff, and students.

Infrastructure & Systems Support

  • Assist the Network Services team at the Main Campus with network infrastructure upgrades and replacements for wired and wireless network hardware devices.
  • Assist with the deployment, testing, and troubleshooting of network hardware, including switches, wireless access points, and related infrastructure components.
  • Support network infrastructure upgrade and replacement projects at assigned campus locations in coordination with Network Services personnel.
  • Participate in campus-wide technology projects, system deployments, upgrades, and equipment refresh initiatives.
  • Participate in the selection, installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, system software, and network-related technologies.

Documentation & Operational Support

  • Maintain support documentation, knowledge base articles, technical procedures, and service records.
  • Serve as a technical resource and provide guidance to Information Services personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, macOS, and common productivity software.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, printers, classroom technology, and networking fundamentals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with various users.
  • Demonstrate discretion, patience, and professionalism in providing customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible work schedule to meet operational needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in IT support or helpdesk operations.
  • At least one (1) year of experience coordinating support, troubleshooting hardware/software, and managing service requests.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a higher education or community college environment.
  • Experience supporting learning technologies and classroom systems.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management tools.
  • IT certifications such as Computing Technology Industry Association A+  (CompTIA A+), Network+, or ITIL Foundation.

WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and sit. The employee may occasionally lift or move computers and other equipment (up to 40 pounds).


WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hour to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours. This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
