JOB PURPOSE:

Adjunct instructor for ENGL courses on Main Campus and area High School dual enrollment classes.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All duties related to teaching KCKCC Pre-Composition classes (ENGL 0099), Composition I classes (ENGL 0101), and Composition II classes (ENGL 0102).

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of teaching English composition classes at a collegiate level.
  • Ability to relate to a diverse student body.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in English OR
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline plus 18 graduate hours in English.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICAITONS:

  • Teaching experience with the diverse population of an open enrollment, urban community college is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. The employee is directly responsible for safety, wellbeing, and work output.


Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.


SALARY: $757.00 per credit hour.


WORK SCHEDULE:

Must be able to work a variable schedule/varying hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours; as needed.
