JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for ensuring the simulation center and program laboratories are maintained to provide high quality, learner-centered instruction.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete tasks necessary for smooth implementation of simulation and laboratory activities, including set-up, cleaning, stocking, labeling, etc.
  • Complete a monthly check of all simulation and laboratory equipment to determine the presence of any safety issues.
  • Schedule formal safety checks at least every 12 months and equipment repair visits as needed.
  • Maintain records of safety checks and repair orders for proper accountability of equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies and notify Director of Nursing when purchases need to be considered.
  • Collaborate with the Simulation Coordinator to schedule all simulation and laboratory spaces.
  • Enforce all rules and regulations that govern safe and ethical student practices in the Nursing simulation center and program laboratories.
  • Train faculty and staff in the use of simulation mannequins and computer technology.
  • Serve as a resource to other departments in planning and running simulations.
  • Perform basic mannequin and technology maintenance.
  • Follow required safety procedures, including, but not limited to electrical equipment safety, PPE and soiled linens.
  • Operate simulation equipment during scenarios as needed.
  • Set-up and breakdown each simulation day, maintaining the equipment to ensure longevity.
  • Provide technical assistance to faculty and students that use the lab.
  • Organize the lab for usage of simulation for all faculty.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EDUCATION:

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Technology, Nursing or related field.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher Computer Science, Technology, Nursing or related field.
  • Experience working in a simulation laboratory.

 

SALARY RANGE:  $36,000 - $45,000 annually

 

WORK SCHEDULE: Must be able to work a variable schedule/hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours. Your appointment is contingent on sufficient enrollments, or on program and scheduling changes.
