Job Purpose
Adjunct Faculty to teach Auto Collision Repair (ACRT) courses at any Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) location. This is a POOL position. Application materials for this adjunct position are accepted on an on-going basis due to increasing demand for courses in this subject area.
Position Description
- Provide technical guidance in the performance of specific tasks in the maintenance and repair of vehicles
- Observe and document student performance of tasks assigned by Collision Repair instructors
- Ensure safety practices are followed by students
- Follow required pollution prevention procedures in the handling of chemicals and waste products
- Maintain records of repair orders for proper accountability of parts and materials
- Maintain control of college owned specialty tools for use by students
- Enforcing all rules and regulations, per the college’s guidelines and other enforcement agencies that govern student practices of KCKCC
- Being responsible for the transportation of students during field trips per the college’s policies and guidelines
- Traveling with students to off campus activities
- Performing other duties as assigned by the respective instructor
- Work schedule will be part-time
- Be able to facilitate college and I-CAR curriculum
- Utilizes student-centered teaching strategies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications and/or Education
Minimum Qualifications and/or Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Three (3) years’ experience as a Collision Repair technician performing the varied duties in a Collision Repair shop environment.
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification. (Persons in this position will be required to, at some point, pass ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification exams and retain certifications throughout employment.)
Preferred Qualifications and/or Education
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree.
- I-CAR points and certifications would be beneficial, but not required.
- Person should have experience and an understanding of all aspects of the collision repair industry; non-structural repair, structural repair, painting and refinishing, and some mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Experience in learner center pedagogy.

Work Schedule
Must be able to work a variable schedule/hours to meet operational needs. May require day, evening or weekend hours. Your appointment is contingent on sufficient enrollments and/or on program and scheduling changes. Appointment may also be at any KCKCC location or at a local high school.
