Department:  Buildings and Grounds

Job title: Part Time Maintenance/ Painter

Reports to:  Assistant Director of Buildings and Grounds

Position type: Part-time Monday – Friday 29 hours/week: 6 am start time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Purpose: Building maintenance duties with an emphasis on painting offices, classrooms; etc.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Building maintenance, painting
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Experience in sheetrock repair and painting in a commercial setting
  • Become knowledgeable of the campus and it’s buildings and rooms
  • Ability to work alone or in a group with minimal supervision.
  • Be able to perform basic maintenance skills such as changing out lights and ballasts, moving furniture, etc.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with commercial painting preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Able to lift 50 pounds

Able to climb and use ladders on a regular basis

Ability to work inside and outside weather conditions

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

 

SALARY:                 $11.26
