PART-TIME ASSISTANT WOMEN’S BASKETBALL COACH

Reporting directly to the Head Coach, the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach shall work with and assist the head coach in the following areas:
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  1. Recruitment of athletes including but not limited to; evaluation, phone calls, mailings, and/or game film.
  2. Organizing and supervising of practices, study hall, and fundraising activities
  3. Maintain records and databases
  4. Enforcing all rules and regulations, per the College’s guidelines and other enforcement agencies that govern athletics of KCKCC
  5. Assuming responsibility for uniforms and equipment.
  6. Overseeing set-up and/or tear down of equipment for home games and events.
  7. Assuming responsibility for the transportation of team member’s per the college’s policies and guidelines
  8. Participation in practices and/or competitions
  9. Traveling with athletes to all competitions (CDL Class C is preferred)
  10. Facilitate game film
 
CONSULTING TASKS
 
  1. Performing other duties as assigned by the respective head coach
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  1. Student basketball athletes
  2. Work Study Students
  3. Managers
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 
  1. Ability to teach proper and correct techniques
  2. Ability to work with individuals of various backgrounds and abilities
  3. Understanding of the philosophy of the urban, open door community College
  
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
 
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s preferred
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a player or coach in basketball required
 
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
 
 
  1. Visual ability sufficient to operate a motor vehicle to transport team members
  2. Physical ability to train basketball athletes
 
SALARY:             $13,000/year plus benefits
                             (If a current KCKCC employee is selected for this position, consideration will be given to his/her current salary.)
