Job Purpose


Provides instruction to students enrolled at Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) to teach Preventative Maintenance Inspection at any KCKCC location. This is a POOL position. Application materials for this adjunct position accepted on an on-going basis due to increasing demand for courses in this subject area.

 

Position Description

  • Teach various courses and labs in the Preventative Maintenance Inspection program
  • Prepare students for a job in the transportation industry
  • Assess students in the lab and classroom setting
  • Demonstrate various preventative maintenance methods to the students
  • Adhere to high standards of student demonstration in the lab and classroom
  • Attend meetings necessary to the college and department
  • Prepare and complete any required paperwork necessary to teaching and the college
  • Other related duties as assigned by appropriate administrator
  • Experience in learner-centered pedagogy
  • Ability to work with a variety of students and prepare them for a career in the industry.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance inspection standards in compliance with ASE and industry standards.
  • Ability to follow and execute preventative maintenance inspections tasks in compliance with ASE and industry standards.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Position Qualifications and/or Education


Minimum Qualifications and/or Education

  • Associates degree
  • Five (5) years industry-related experience which can be at an educational setting
  • A valid driver’s license, a clear motor vehicle record and ability to drive college vehicles

Preferred Qualifications and/or Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Technology
  • Five (5) years industry-related experience which can be at an educational setting
  • One – Two (1-2) years leadership/training experience
  • Teaching experience in an open enrollment, urban community college
  • Experience with a Learning Management System such as Blackboard

Work Schedule

5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hour to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours. Your appointment is contingent on sufficient enrollments, or on program and scheduling changes.
