ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The College is seeking an individual to teach in the early childhood development and education or strongly related field with blended online instruction experience required.  Additional subject area in special education with Kansas teaching license preferred. All early childhood courses use the college designated course management system Blackboard.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree required in the discipline, OR
  • Master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline being taught (i.e. early childhood, special education).
  • Deliver online course expectations and facilitate blended course schedule posted for position offered (e.g. Saturday).

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICAITONS:

  • Ph.D. in Child Development. Early Childhood, or Early Childhood Special Education.
  • Evidence of proficiency in use of course management system Blackboard or similar CMS.
  • Five (5) plus years early childhood inclusive program administration (e.g. Head Start, Early Head Start, state licensed childcare center for 100+ children).
  • Five (5) plus years early childhood inclusive program teaching/co-teaching.
  • Three (3) plus years College Teaching Experience.
  • Evidence of significant Online Teaching experience or Certification.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit.  Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift items.  The employee is directly responsible for safety, wellbeing, and work output.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

 

SALARY:   $757.00 per credit hour.


WORK SCHEDULE:

Must be able to work a variable schedule/varying hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours; as needed.
