Job Purpose

Coordinate clinical compliance for students and faculty engaged in clinical activities for the Nursing Education Programs. Assist the Director of Nursing Education with development of clinical internship policies and practices to ensure maintenance of accreditation status while supporting the institution’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.

 

Position Description

  • Utilize MoKan and other electronic software programs to request, schedule, and track clinical facilities utilized
  • Organize, review, and approve records to ensure student and faculty compliance with clinical requirements via
  • use of clinical management software such as CastleBranch and Clinical Student.
  • Actively seek out new clinical site opportunities as needed
  • Manage faculty orientations to all clinical sites
  • Conduct clinical faculty meetings each semester
  • Train faculty on use of clinical evaluation tools and other topics pertinent to clinical experiences
  • Maintain open lines of communication with clinical facilities and faculty teaching clinical experiences
  • Maintain clinical requirements aligned with accrediting agencies and approval organizations to include, but not
  • limited to, Kansas State Board of Nursing, Accreditation Commission of Education for Nursing, and Kansas
  • Department of Aging and Disability Services
  • Collaborate with faculty teaching the courses regarding clinical assignments as needed
  • Work in partnership with the director of nursing to resolve any conflicts or clinical errors among students,
  • faculty and/or facility personnel in a timely, professional manner.
  • Participate in continuous evaluation of the Nursing clinical education program
  • Perform visits to attract, retain, and evaluate clinical sites utilized for the program
  • Participate in local clinical educator meetings and trainings
  • Travel to clinical sites and other locations assigned for clinical experiences
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Health Professions or Director of Nursing Education

 

Position Qualifications and/or Education

Minimum Qualifications and/or Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Current or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the states of Kansas and Missouri
  • Three (3) years working full-time as a Registered Nurse

Preferred Qualifications and/or Education

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or higher
  • Five years working full-time as a Registered Nurse
  • Experience with database management such as clinical software utilized in nursing education
  • Experience with a Learning Management System such as Blackboard

Work Schedule

40 hours per week, during regular hours of Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hour to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours.
