Position type: Part-Time, 29 hours/week
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

JOB PURPOSE:
Under the direction of bookstore management, provides assistance in the operation of the TEC Cafeteria. Accountabilities include helping customers in the purchase of food and drink, prepping food for meals, and helping to assure that the cafeteria remains clean at all times.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with preparation of daily breakfast and lunch.
  • Operate automatic washing machine.
  • Assist with preparation of special occasion meals.
  • Practice Serve Safe standards at all times.
  • Dress professionally at all times.
  • Maintain a high level of kitchen safety and sanitation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and faculty.
  • Knowledge in bakery, meat and vegetable cookery, breakfast and desserts.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and current health concerns.
  • Ability to operate automatic washing machines.
  • Good communications skills and ability to relate professionally to other workers and students.
  • Basic math skills including measurements and recipe conversions.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse clientele.
  • Ability to operate a computerized cash register.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of customer service experience.
  • One (1) year cashiering experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EDUCATION:

  • One (1) year experience with fast food chain or other relatable restaurant.
  • Serve-Safe or Food Handlers Card.

SALARY RANGE: $11.80 per hour.


WORK SCHEDULE: Must be able to work a variable schedule/hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours.
