JOB PURPOSE:
Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) is seeking a full-time faculty for the Mathematics (MATH) department to teach courses predominantly at high schools in the KCKCC service area. Courses at other KCKCC locations may be included if load cannot be met teaching at the high schools.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct all class sessions according to schedule.
  • Faculty duties include classroom instructions assessment, curriculum development, professional inquiry/collaboration, committee work, and engaging with instructional technology.
  • Faculty teaching load and related duties assigned as outlined by the Master Contract.
  • Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes such as face-to-face, online, hybrid and/or blended formats during days, evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to utilize multiple methods of instruction, assessment, and ad technology to engage students in 21st century literacy tasks with a focus on critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrate support for cross-curricula instruction and contextualization efforts with other courses and departments.
  • Build positive relationships with students and all college stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and active engagement in current trends and research in teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrate evidence of innovative and responsive teaching methodologies to increase student achievement and retention.
  • Possess knowledge of adult learning theories and application in developmental math education.
  • Ability to differentiate and individualize literacy instruction.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provide instruction, activities, assignments and assessments adequately to cover all student-learning objectives for the specific courses taught.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EDUCATION:

  • Master is degree in Mathematics or a Master’s degree in another area with 18 credit hours of graduate Mathematics coursework.
  • Teaching experience with a diverse population.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EDUCATION:

  • Teaching experience in an open enrollment, urban community college.
  • Experience with using MyMathLab (MML) program.
  • Experience with a Learning Management System such as Blackboard.
  • Experience in learner-centered pedagogy.


SALARY RANGECompensation is commensurate with education and experience outlined in the collective bargaining contract.


WORK SCHEDULE:
Must be able to work variable schedule/hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours. Your appointment is contingent on sufficient enrollments, or on program and scheduling changes.
