PT ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING RETENTION

The Assistant Director of Nursing Retention shall be responsible to the Director of Nursing for retention and remedial matters of the nursing program.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  1. Provide assistance with test-taking skills.
  2. Monitor students’ progress and offer additional assistance with online remedial programs.
  3. Introduce critical thinking skills in nursing classes and administer a learning styles inventory.
  4. Organize and lead nursing student study groups.
  5. Provide specific strategies for students as requested by faculty.
  6. Serve as a liaison between nursing faculty, counseling and students.
  7. Maintain an office in the nursing area.
  8. Schedule group activities weekly for the high-risk students for individualized attention.
  9. Arrange an open session for all students enrolled in the program.  These sessions may include faculty led case-study sessions.
  10. Assist with nursing skills/simulation laboratory.
 
CONSULTING TASKS
 
  1. Consulting with students and faculty with regard to Nursing Education.
  2. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
            None.
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 
  1. Must possess a familiarity with nursing curriculum.
  2. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  3. Demonstrate ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community groups.
  4. Must possess knowledge of student learning skills.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
 
  1. Master’s degree in Nursing, required.
  2. Minimum of one year experience in postsecondary education institution.

SALARY:             $38.02 Per Hour — 25 Hours Per Week
If a current KCKCC employee is selected for this position, consideration will be given to his/her current salary.
