COORDINATOR OF AUXILIARY SERVICES OPERATIONS

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the coordinator of Auxiliary Operations shall have responsibility for:
 
 
  • College operated bookstores
    • Main Campus
    • TEC Education Center
    • Leavenworth Center
 
  • College limited food services operation
    • Main Campus – Contracted deli food service
    • TEC Education Center – College run operations
    • Child Care Center – Contracted food service
    • Vending Machines – Main Campus & TEC Center
 
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  1. Direct, interpret and apply standard policies and procedures for successful daily Auxiliary Services Operations including: Purchasing, contract negotiations, pricing with the aim of operating at an excess of income over operating expenses
  2. Assure accurate and efficient cash handling, record maintenance, staffing, security, and inventory control
  3. Manage the MBS point of sales controller and Bookstore inventory control system
  4. Set and continually monitor pricing policy and strategy on all merchandise and services for sale
  5. Maintain a working knowledge of Auxiliary Services industry standards and innovations regarding books, other merchandise and customer service
  6. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate a competent staff
  7. Establish and maintain accurate financial controls to meet annual/long range goals to improve site operations
  8. Monitor profitability and prepare monthly profit & loss statements for bookstores and food service operations
  9. Coordinate/plan marketing efforts to assure merchandise is ordered at lowest optimal cost and minimize the inventory of dead books and merchandise on hand as for the close of the College fiscal year
  10. Set goals for continuous improvement of operations
  11. Maintain a clean, friendly and inviting bookstore appearance
  12. Represent the Bookstore and College at state, regional, and national association meetings
 
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Supervises Bookstore & Food Service employees
 
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 
  • Strong retail merchandising and promotional skills in a College/University environment.
  • Current knowledge of human resources procedures
  • Ability to train and manage staff
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Financial statement preparation, i.e. Profit & Loss statement, Inventory reconciliation and daily cash reconciliation.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
 
  • Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in business field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a college auxiliary service environment or an equivalent experience/training as a management level administrator in a similar area of retail management.

SALARY:       $63,000 plus benefits
