PART- TIME DAY PORTER/BOOKSTORE HELPER
(Technical Education Center)

Reporting directly to the Dean of Operations, the Part Time Day Porter/Bookstore Helper shall be responsible for:
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with room set up and tear down for various activities/events at the Technical Education Center.
  • Assist with arranging and moving of tables, chairs and equipment needed for various activities/events at the Technical Education Center.
  • Assist with requests for equipment that may be needed during activities/events at the Technical Education Center.
  • Assist the Technical Assistant in the Bookstore with supplies and merchandise placement in the Technical Education Center Bookstore.
  • Daily stocking of TEC Bookstore refrigerator and freezer.
  • Daily stocking of TEC Bookstore paper products
  • Daily checking the soda and cappuccino machines for product levels
  • Daily cleaning of tables, chairs, counters, coolers, freezers, coffee machine, cappuccino machine, and fountain soda machine.
  • Weekly check of CO2 bottles in both the TEC Bookstore and the TEC Cafeteria
  • Pick up trash on TEC campus
  • Assisting with book buy back at the end of semester
  • Assisting with the creation of tool kits as needed by the various TEC programs.
  • Report any damage to facilities, grounds, or equipment and the needed repair to the Dean of Operations.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours based on activities/events at the Technical Education Center, not to exceed 29 hours per week.
 
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Dean of Operations.
 
CONSULTING TASKS
  • Assist in maintaining the safety of the campus.
 
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 
  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and equipment found in large facilities.
  • Ability to work alone or as a member of a group.
  • Ability to perform routine preventable maintenance as directed by the Dean of Operations.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Physical ability sufficient to assist in function set-up and tear down.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Physical ability to push and/or pull carts
 
SALARY:          $11.26 per hour
 
HOURS:            Availability between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 – Monday through Friday; 
                        occasional Saturdays required. Hours not to exceed 29 hours per week.
