Job Purpose: Responsible for all aspects of talent acquisition
 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate, assist and/or facilitate the initiation of requisitions with hiring supervisors when necessary. Input and initiate new positions descriptions and notify Chief Human Resources Officer for final approval.
  • Create job advertisements and place in the appropriate publications, websites and/or media ads. Assess the effectiveness of the recruitment activities.
  • Responsible for developing strong relationships with targeted sources (i.e. universities and other specialized recruitment sources) to identify, attract and recruit applicants.
  • Oversee the background check, drug screen and tuberculosis process for new employees.
  • Contact candidates to offer positions and initiate pre-employment process. Work with the Chief Human Resources Officer to verify the correct position level and salary calculations.
  • Oversee the e-verify process and I-9 compliance documentation for new hires.
  • Verify, process and input new and existing full-time and part-time employee data into HRIS System, assure that all personnel/payroll related information is consistent; identify, analyze and troubleshoot problems/discrepancies.
  • Ensure job descriptions are updates and maintained.
  • Update personnel files to reflect any job data changes.
  • Coordinate, in conjunction with the Chief Human Resources Officer, the contract renewal process.
  • Assist in ensuring personnel files are in compliance with current state and federal guidelines.
  • Process all resignations, retirements, and terminations in the HRIS system with timely notification to employees and to payroll. Coordinate with Benefits Coordinator for COBRA Compliance and life insurance.
  • Assist in the communication to the Payroll Department regarding any changes in pay rates for staff and faculty, while ensuring compliance with all state and federal guidelines and the Master Contract.
  • Maintain organizational chart for all full-time positions at KCKCC.
  • Coach, mentor and train managers on various employment processes and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must exhibit professionalism and be able to communicate well, both orally and in written form.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace with interruptions and preform assigned task accurately, pay close attention to details, meet prearranged deadlines and manage multiple task simultaneously.
  • Ability to use independent judgement successfully to initiate and carry projects to completion and resolve procedural documentation issues effectively.
  • Ability to perform advanced computerized functions such as importing database information. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to use independent judgement successfully to initiate and carry projects to completion and resolve procedural documentation issues with minimal supervision.
  • Must maintain confidentially of work-related matters.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of a web-based HRIS; specific to recruiting and application management.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations that affect employment.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources management, management, business administration or closely related field plus two years directly related work experience.
  • Associates degree in a related field plus four years full-time, directly-related work experience, preferably in human resources environment.
  • 1-3 years of recruitment/ talent acquisitions experience preferred.
  • Experience working with Ellucian HRIS system preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/ SHRM-SCP preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

 

SALARY:                 $47,500.00- $57,500.00 annually

(If a current KCKCC employee is selected for this position, consideration will be given to current salary.)
