This full-time position reports to the Dean of TEC Operations. The Front Office Technical Assistant serves as the initial customer service contact for the TEC incoming calls, as well as for walk-in inquiries made by students, faculty, staff, and guests. The Technical Education Center is in an exciting period of growth and development, and we are looking for a person with superlative customer service skills to function as a positive ambassador for the Center.

 

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that the front office is open for business promptly at 7:00 AM-3:30 PM daily.
  • As one of the initial points of contact for Technical Education Center, ensure that each customer has a positive and helpful customer service experience.
  • Answer telephone inquiries for Technical Education Center and respond to walk-in student, faculty, staff, and guest inquiries at the Technical Education Center.
  • Provide potential and current students with the proper admissions forms needed to ensure their continued education.
  • Schedule appointments with advisors for current and potential students.
  • Assist admissions with student information input in the student database.
  • Assist the Medical Assistant program coordinator with program applications and scheduling appointments for potential students with the program coordinator.
  • Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to the following: photocopying, filing, faxing and mailing.
  • Sign for packages and deliveries and notify recipient.
  • Log absences in appropriate books and provide information to proper persons as needed.
  • Assist with registration as needed during the first day of the early and regular enrollment periods
  • Maintain a presence on social media and market the KCKCC Technical Education Center.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS


The person who would be successful in this position will possess the following attributes:

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • One year of receptionist, secretarial, or customer service experience required.

  • Associates Degree and training in computer and multimedia software preferred

SALARY: $27,500-$32,500 per year ($13.22-$15.63 per hour)
