JOB PURPOSE
To assist all user groups within the college community with any hardware, software or login issues they might be dealing with.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answering and resolving Helpdesk calls and walk-in technical assistance requests.
  • Provide technology support to students, faculty and staff.
  • Troubleshoot network and Internet connectivity problems.
  • Maintain documentation on systems processes and procedures and software licensing.
  • Work with students, staff and faculty having problems with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prepare classrooms for special testing and evaluation sessions.
  • Insure all necessary software is installed and ready for the beginning of the semester in all classrooms and labs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair networked and standalone printers and scanners

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Build, install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade networked desktop and laptop computer systems.
  • Resolve hardware and software compatibility problems including virus protection, e-mail access and printer connectivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish good working relationships with other individuals in the work unit.
  • Quality customer service skills such as discretion, patience, etiquette and professionalism.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
  • Demonstrate proper verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma.
  • Two years of experience or technical training in the installation, repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of PC hardware, software and network problems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MCP and/or A+ certification is highly desirable.
  • AA, BA or BS in Computer related degree program.
  • Phone and walk-in Helpdesk experience highly desired.
  • Previous experience in the academic field.

SALARYSalary is commensurate with education and experience. 

WORK SCHEDULE:

Must be able to work a variable schedule/varying hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours; as needed.
