DIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH

The Director of Institutional Research will report directly to the Dean of Institutional Services and will be responsible for:
 
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  1. Design, develop, and carry out basic and applied research, with an emphasis on factors that impact the student and community population, including socio-economic variables, population trends and occupational demands, to support KCKCC’s mission and strategic objectives.    
  2. Provide timely data and information to administration, staff, faculty, and other constituents in both written and oral presentations to support informed decision-making.
  3. Managing state and federal data reporting processes.
  4. Direct collection and maintenance of data and information from internal and external sources.
  5. Coordinating regular and ad-hoc surveys as needed.
  6. Managing the human and financial resources of the IR consistent with the mission, goals, and objectives of the IR, the division of Institutional Services, and KCKCC.
  7. Representing IR in various on-campus venues and serving on appropriate internal and external committees as needed.
  8. Performing other duties as assigned by the Dean of Institutional Services.
 
CONSULTING TASKS
1.         Assisting Dean of Institutional Services in development of KCKCC’s Strategic Plan and its implementation and evaluation.

 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
            1.         Associate Director of Center for Research & Community Development (CRCD).
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
1.         Excellent skills in survey research methodology, research design, quantitative methodology, statistical 
            techniques, and data analysis required.
2.         Proficiencies in statistical analysis software, reporting software and database systems required.
3.         Strong analytic, written, and oral communication and attention to detail as well as  the ability to work
            productively and effectively with colleagues and senior staff are required.
4.         Knowledge in student information and administration systems is preferred.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1.         Master’s degree from an accredited institution with concentration in social sciences or related fields
            required; Ph.D. preferred.
2.         Minimum of three years experience in institutional research and planning required; experience in higher
            education institutions is preferred.
 
 
SALARY:                                $61,098.52/ per year plus fringe benefits
