Medical Coordinator for Kids on Campus

The Medical Coordinator will oversee the medical needs for the Kansas City Kansas Community College Kids on Campus program.  This includes sports, Math, Science, Drug and Alcohol counseling.  He/She will oversee the medical issues and supervise the Medical Office assistant.
 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shall be responsible for the medical needs of all group members and staff in the Kids on Campus program at all times.
  • Provide First Aid treatment to all injured or sick participants.
  • Maintain the medical records for the participants.
  • Call parents and implement referrals if needed.
  • Attend staff orientation and attend staff meetings.
  • Be available at participant orientation for parents who have questions.
  • Report promptly to the Activity Director any medical issues with participants.
  • Manage chronic health issues such as diabetes, asthma, etc.
  • Maintain an attitude conducive to constructive interaction to all staff and participants.
  • Build team unity, spirit, identity, organization and loyalty with the camp staff.
  • Wear camp staff shirt daily or appropriate sportswear, remembering that dress reflects upon the image of the program.
  • Promote Kids on Campus in the community.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Kansas Nursing License.
  • Licensed registered nurse (NCLEX)
  • Ability to work well with youth and have good medical knowledge of youth 10-16 years of age.
  • Ability to motivate and maintain discipline in a positive manner with youth.
  • Must possess high energy level and be creative and enthusiastic.
  • Must be flexible and cooperative.
  • Must be prompt and reliable and able to follow directions.
  • Must possess strong leadership and communication skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  •  Licensed Registered Nurse
  • Two years of experience working with youth.
  • Current CPR and First Aid.

FLSA: Non- Exempt

SALARY: $5000.00 per Contract for May 30-July 30 2017
