INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE FOR T4E GRANT (TAACCCT)

The Institutional Research Associate is responsible for supporting the evaluation of the Training for Employment (T4E) grant by writing queries to extract data from a variety of databases, developing and managing T4E databases, tracking T4E participants, and preparing necessary reports.  The Institutional Research Associate will collaborate with KCKCC T4E staff and Evalytics, the third-party evaluator.  The Institutional Research Associate will report directly to the Project Manager and closely collaborate with the Director of the Center for Research and Community Development. This is a grant-funded position, which will terminate upon conclusion of the grant.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  1. Writing queries in Structured Query Language (SQL) to generate data for ad hoc and routine reports upon request from T4E staff and other KCKCC stakeholders.
  2. Collecting, tracking, and reporting data from both internal and external sources in support of the T4E grant.
  3. Extracting student records from administrative computing system, ensuring data integrity, transforming, and uploading data into KCKCC and T4E databases.
  4. Assisting with the development and maintenance of databases supporting the T4E grant.
  5. Collaborating with various T4E staff and stakeholders to ensure quality research and evaluation procedures.
  6. All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 
  1. Proficiency in programming in Structured Query Language.
  2. Expertise in database development and management.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office and other reporting tools (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Crystal Reports, etc.).
  4. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, manage concurrent projects, and meet deadlines.
  5. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and/or personal information.
  6. Good written and oral communication skills.
  7. Ability to work with individuals with various ethnic backgrounds, social circumstances, and abilities.
 

 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
 
  1. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Two or more years of Structured Query Language programming experience required.
  3. Two or more years of database development and management experience required.

SALARY:              $45,000/per year, plus fringe benefits.  This is a grant-funded position
