FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
 

1. Support the goals and objectives of Information Systems by planning, installing, and maintaining, and tuning data communications system software components.
2. Keep abreast of Information Systems projects and changes, and advise IS Professionals of the potential impact on network performance.
3. Monitor the attainment of service level objectives by capturing, documenting and reporting network changes, availability and performance information.
4. Resolve hardware and software compatibility problems including virus protection, e-mail access and printer connections.
5. Ensure efficient network application implementation by creating simulation and modeling techniques.
6. Serve as a technical resource to Information Systems Personnel by providing guidance and expertise.
7. Provide technology training to faculty and staff.
8. Participates in the selection, installation, and maintenance of all hardware, system software, and network related components.

      1.   Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Network Supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
 

1. MCSE Certification is highly desirable.  A copy of the original certificate is required as proof. (Will be required within 12 months of employment)
2. Must be able to communicate courteously and professionally with internal and external contacts.
3. Quality customer service skills such as discretion, patience, etiquette and professionalism a must.
4. Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
5. In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and Internetworking hardware and software.
6. MS SQL and Exchange knowledge is highly desired.
7. Experience with virtualized server environment.
8. Advanced knowledge of Cisco IOS and routing protocols is highly preferred.
9. Working knowledge of MS Active Directory 2008 users and group policies.

 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
 

1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree desired.
2. MCSE Certification is desired.  A copy of the original certificate is required as proof. (Will be required within 12 months of employment)
3. Minimum of three years experience in computer operations, data networking, systems programming, or the equivalent in training and experience.
4. Two years of the required experience must have involved installation, maintenance, and tuning of data communications system components.

SALARY:                   $45,000.00/year plus fringe benefits
