TRANSITION TO EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR FOR T4E GRANT (TAACCCT)

The Transition to Employment (TTE) Coordinator is responsible for supporting the activities of the Department of Labor TAACCCT grant awarded to KCKCC for its Training for Employment (T4E) proposal.  The Coordinator  will work closely with business and industry and advisors to develop jobs, to provide feedback from industry, to help satisfy industry hiring needs, and to coordinate a full range of TTE activities. The individual must have the ability to successfully coordinate complex projects and have a successful history of interfacing with industry, employment issues, and students. This is a grant-funded position, which will be sustained by KCKCC after the duration of the grant. The TTE Coordinator will report directly to the Project Manager.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  1. Develop relationship with industry partners and inform them about the T4E grant.
  2. Coordinate a full range of student support functions in conjunction with the Advising Coordinator.
  3. Work with grant-related personnel to assure that program participants receive support to become employed.
  4. Adhere to grant requirements including reporting, activities, marketing, and procurement.
  5. Ensure all responsibilities are met in a timely manner.
  6. Adhere to grant management best practices and follow guidelines and recommendations of the Federal Grant Management Handbook.
  7. Coordinate the implementation of mandatory orientation sessions for T4E participants.
  8. Support grant and participant evaluation processes as directed by the Project Manager.
  9. Create and coordinate information distributed through the Online Portal.
  10. Engage with industry to assess their hiring needs, create and support internships, and develop training for T4E participants.
  11. Collaborate with industry advisory boards, workforce system partners, and college staff.
  12. Participate in career, industry, and other workforce-related activities, some of which may meet after standard business hours.
  13. All other duties as assigned.

  1. Ability to successfully coordinate complex, grant-funded projects.
  2. Ability to develop and maintain successful, collaborative relationships with all grant personnel and external partners, including those in business and industry.
  3. Possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
  4. Ability to organize projects and operate under the pressure of deadlines.
  5. Ability to use software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, presentation, and participant management software.
  6. Good human relations and interpersonal communication skills, to include maintaining composure under fast-paced changes and requests.
  7. Ability to work with individuals with various ethnic backgrounds, social circumstances, and abilities.
  8. Ability to write clearly and effectively.
  9. Ability to communicate in a pleasant demeanor by telephone and in person with a variety of individuals.
  10. Work with minimal supervision and initiate work projects independently.
  11. Maintain confidentiality when required.
  12. Enforce KCKCC policies and procedures.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
 
  1. One or more years of grant coordination experience in institutions of higher education.
  2. Minimum of bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  3. Two years of experience in construction, green construction, advanced manufacturing, or related areas, such as the skilled trades, strongly preferred.

SALARY:              $45,000 plus fringe benefits.     
If a current KCKCC employee is selected for this position, consideration will be given to his/her current salary.
