FULL-TIME FACULTY – Administrative Office Professional--Leavenworth

The individual in this position will be responsible for teaching a variety of office assistant related courses. She/he must be able to articulate an understanding of, and an appreciation for, an urban, comprehensive, and open door community college.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Being a member of the Business Department Team.
  • Maintaining professional development, through webinar participation, conference attendance, etc.
  • Curriculum development including course descriptions, objectives, content, and semester calendars.
  • Planning and organization of classrooms.
  • Selection of appropriate materials, textbooks, equipment, and software.
    • Maintain equipment in instructional areas.
    • Recommend new items for the program as needed.
  • Evaluation of student progress as related to learning objectives.
  • Maintenance of appropriate student and program records.
  • Participate in Business department meetings, MSCT Division Meetings, and other meetings mandated by the college.
  • Collaborate with College employees through participation on Campus Committees.
  • Participate in Business curriculum development, student recruitment, student advising, and student retention activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the MSCT Dean.
CONSULTING TASKS
 
  • Discuss program issues with Business team and the MSCT Dean on an ongoing basis.
  • Consult with Business faculty in development of new course needs and offerings.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Required Educations and Experience:
 
  • Master’s degree in Information Systems or in a business-related area
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Experience in teaching Microsoft Office Suite.
     
Preferred qualifications and experience:
 
  • Two years of community college instruction
  • Familiarity with classroom technology
  • Microsoft IT Academy Certifications in one or more areas.

SALARY:    Commensurate with education and experience per the Master Contract. (182) employee
