The Director of Media Services reports directly to the Chief Information Officer and is responsible for the organization and management of multimedia-related technical and academic support services in the institution.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  1. Assists KCKCC staff and faculty with the design and production of multimedia products; such as, videos, podcasts, vodcasts, and lecture capture.
  2. Manages KCKCC’s TV channels.
  3. Responsible for the creation, planning and development of visual and multimedia productions in support of classroom instruction and special events.
  4. Manages the inventory of digital assets in all formats across various platforms (Windows PC, Mac, Mobile devices, etc.) for easy access and retrieval.
  5. Plans, develops, and promotes state of the art audio, visual and multimedia materials, hardware and software systems.
  6. Manages digital signage on campus and ensures relevant content.
  7. Informs and stimulates faculty, administrators and students in making appropriate and innovative use of educational media.
  8. Establishes conditions to inform and stimulate faculty, administrators and students in making appropriate and innovative use of multimedia solutions.
  9. Formulates and implements immediate and long range planning for the acquisition of equipment, materials, and audio/video requirement.
  10. Complies with established college technology standards.
  11. Hires, trains and supervises production services personnel.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 
  1. Advanced level of technical, communication, written and spoken, and administrative skills.
  2. Knowledge of technological systems as they apply to instructional, administrative and workplace needs particularly learning management systems.
  3. Ability to provide documented computer, multimedia development, audiovisual, teleconferencing or computer network operations experience.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of college educational philosophy and administrative practices and procedures; college curricula and instructional programs.
  5. Strong leadership skills that promote dedication, creativity, innovation and growth.
  6. Ability to develop and interpret financial data/pans and manage resources – Fiscally responsible.
  7. Knowledge of college policies and procedures.
  8. Adept in employee development and performance management.
  9. Strategic planning skills to infuse positive change in a multi-ethnic-cultural environment.
  10. Demonstrated ability to think, reason, and make sound judgement on how responsibilities are completed in compliance with college standards and guidance.
   
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL:
This function/position has been designated as “essential”.  This means that when the College is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover and continue operations at the College.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
 
  • Master’s degree and eight (8) years of related work experience in educational technology, graphic arts, multimedia development or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) is preferred.

SALARY:             $70,000
