Job Title: Adjunct Faculty – Computer Information Systems Technology (CIST)

Reports to: Director of CIST

Supervisor: Dean of Math, Science, Business and Technology

Job Purpose: The following seven classes are needing instructors: CIST-0191 Discrete Structures; CIST-0240; CIST-0256; CIST-0125 Obj. Oriented Program Java; CIST-0124 Network Security; CIST-0155 Cyber Forensics; CIST-0225 Information Assurance; and CIST-0255 Legal Issues in Cyber Security.

 

Qualification Requirements
The individual must be willing to teach classes in face-to-face and online modes. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  1. Knowledge of Computer Information Systems Technology Field.
  2. Knowledge of learning processes, curriculum design, test construction, teaching methodology.
  3. Hold professional certifications in Computer Information Technology areas such as: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), network administrator or IT security.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. A Master’s degree in CIS/CT or a related field with equivalent course work in CIS/CT preferred with a minimum of 18 graduate college credit hours.
  2. Professional certification in Computer Information Technology or Computer Technology such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
  3. Administering Computer Operating Systems (Window Server/Client OS, Linux, and Desktop OS)
  4. Setup, configure, and maintain computer server/client systems (hardware & software)
  5. Administering Database Systems (SQL Server, Oracle, and/or other Database System)
  6. Cyber Security certification and teaching experience preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires individuals to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and staff.


SALARY: $757 per credit hour
