This is a full-time position reporting to the High School Partnership Coordinator that is responsible for developing and coordinating programs, partnerships, and initiatives with high schools in the Kansas City Kansas Community College district. This person works directly with high school administrators and counselors, KCKCC faculty and staff, and facilitates partnerships between high schools and KCKCC to foster educational growth and development with each respective school district. Partnerships include Concurrent and Dual Enrollment Programs, Career & Technical Pathways, Articulation of high school/college courses, High School consortiums, and Academies.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all area high school districts.
  • Work closely with assigned high schools to provide advising on career pathways, coordinate student and parent information nights, and carry out liaison activities between the students, high school and internal College services.
  • Identify and meet the various needs of each respective district in relation to services and partnerships with KCKCC.
  • Assist with the administrative set-up of courses, sections, and registrations. Ensure students meet pre-requisites and are officially registered.
  • Assist with resource provision to ensure adequate supplies, textbooks, updates, and review of materials.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and future initiatives funded by the state or federal government to promote high school and community college partnerships.
  • Work with area high school personnel to develop plans and initiatives for their respective districts.
  • Facilitate communication between the College, concurrent instructors and participating high schools. Maintain knowledge of state and national (National Association of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships) policies and best practices regulating programming with high schools.
  • Annually update school registration forms and prepare advising materials
  • Assist with compliance of NACEP Accreditation and new instructor orientations and planning annual professional development activities for concurrent faculty.
  • Monitor and support all initiatives in progress and report findings to the appropriate parties.
  • Develop marketing strategies and materials including newsletters, brochures, catalogues, web pages, and other misc. promotional pieces.
  • Support and contribute efforts to establish district-wide goals for KCKCC High School Partnerships and support activities designed to meet program goals and NACEP standards

  • Represent the College in the most positive manner with prospective, former, and current students, staff and the community.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple and complex initiatives.
  • Assume responsibility; deal effectively with problems and exercise independent judgment when making decisions.
  • Establish and maintain good working relations with school districts, other College personnel and the communities.
  • Be a creative, energetic and self-motivated individual with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to confidently operate a computer with speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills.
  • Superior interpersonal skills that facilitate working with individuals of various abilities and capabilities, from various ethnic, cultural and age groups.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Two years of customer service or related experience preferred
  • One year of experience working in a professional office or business setting preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License – Must be willing to travel to local high schools and work some evening and weekend hours when required.
  • Dual language preferred

SALARY:       $34,000-39,000
