JOB PURPOSE:
Teach college level biology classes.  

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The instructor is to deliver course information at minimum that is found on the generic course syllabi.  The instructor is to keep attendance, turn in a mid-term grade and final grade in a Blackboard course shell.  They are required to use the course textbook and ancillary materials.  They are to follow the policies of the college or high school in the case of partnerships classes. Instructors must complete an auditor’s roster for the course and withdraw students in a timely manner.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to use a computer to check college email, enter grades in Blackboard, and make delivery of teaching materials.
  • Must be familiar with the latest information in the field being taught. 
  • Must be able to communicate the information to students in a way they can manage.
  • Must complete Title IX and Cleary certificates. 
  • Must follow college policies and procedures. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s Degree in Biology, or
  • Master’s Degree plus 18 graduate hours in biology area is required.


SALARY:    $783.00 per credit hour. 
 

WORK SCHEDULE: Must be able to work a variable schedule/hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours. Your appointment is contingent on sufficient enrollments, or on program and scheduling changes.
