This position reports directly to the Instructor of Theater Technology.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• The purpose of this position is to serve as a Theater lighting and/or sound technician for facility renters as assigned.
• Be on time and ready to work on the assigned dates and times.
• Represent and maintain the standards, rules and general practices of the Performing Arts Center (PAC) as defined by supervisor
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

 
CONSULTING TASKS:
 

• Working with other technicians.
• Working with the individual Client/Renter

 
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• None

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 
 

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
 

• Basic working knowledge of Theater lighting and/or Theater sound reinforcement.

 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
 

• Previous theatrical lighting and or sound work preferred.
• Understanding of multiple performance styles – theater, music presentation or variety are some examples.
• Preferred current or past KCKCC theater or Audio Engineering student.

 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
 

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Occasionally set up and move chairs, tables, podiums etc.
• Ability to hear instructions in a low controlled volume environment.
• Ability to see in low light environment.

POSITION TYPE:      part-time 
 
CLASSIFICATION:    Non-Exempt
 
SALARY RANGE:     $15.00/hour
