Position type: Part Time Adjunct faculty, up to 10 credit hours

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Purpose: Adjunct instructor primarily for High School Dual Credit Courses beginning January 2018

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All duties related to teaching KCKCC Pre-Composition classes (ENGL 0099), Composition I classes (ENGL 0101), and Composition II classes (ENGL 0102) at the Pioneer/Leavenworth Center.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of teaching English composition classes at a collegiate level
  • Ability to relate to a diverse student body

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A Master’s degree in English, or a master's degree plus 18 graduate hours in English, is required
  • Teaching experience with the diverse population of an open enrollment, urban community college is preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

 

 

SALARY:   $757.00 per credit hour

(If a current KCKCC employee is selected for this position, consideration will be given to current salary.)
