Adjunct Faculty – Welding Technology (Night Program) -- FALL 2016

The KCKCC Technical Education Center (TEC) is seeking an Adjunct Welding Technology Instructor to teach the weekend Post-secondary Program for the Fall 2016 semester.  
The TEC Welding Technology Program is an AWS SENSE participating program, and offers Entry Level Welder Certifications and various welder Qualifications.  The position will
consist of teaching Welding, Cutting, Safety, and Blueprint Reading. Applicant must have knowledge in these areas.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  1. Minimum 2 years’ experience in Welding and Fabrication.
  2. Knowledge of SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, OFC, PAC, CAC-A, Oxy-Fuel welding/brazing, and/or casting repair processes.
  3. Knowledge of transformer and inverter type welding power sources.
  4. Ability to troubleshoot welding equipment for various processes.
  5. American Welding Society Certified Welding Educator and/or Certified Welding Inspector or ability to obtain those certifications preferred.
  6. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, however, other candidates will be considered.
  7. OSHA outreach Trainer card a plus
  8. Education or training experience a plus.

DUTIES:
  1. Teach courses in all major welding and cutting processes as well as safety and blueprint reading.
  2. Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
  3. Plan lessons and activities that will enable students to master skills and complete course objectives.
  4. Work with other faculty to ensure quality environment for students.
  5. Maintain student records in accordance with state and federal laws.
  6. Follow appropriate safety practices as they pertain to welding industry.
  7. Participate in professional development to continually improve personal skills and the Welding Technology Program.
  8. Assist with welding community outreach and Advisory Committee recruitment and support.
  9. Other duties as assigned by Lead Welding Instructor and Dean of Technical Education Center
  
CLASS SCHEDULE WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:                                  
 
5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Fridays
8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Saturdays
9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Sundays

SALARY:          $742.00 per credit hour
