Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) is currently searching for Adjunct faculty to teach various courses in the Computer Information Systems Technology (CIST). This is a POOL position. Application materials for this adjunct position are accepted on an on-going basis due to increasing demand for courses in this subject area.



  • Prepare and deliver academic instruction, including developing syllabi, developing content and designing assessments.
  • Attend meetings necessary to the college and department.
  • Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and the attainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
  • Help students reach their academic, personal and career goals and foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidence in every student s ability to learn.
  • Contribute to and provide leadership in the student s academic and professional communities, and promote collaboration and teamwork among members of these communities.
  • Experience in Linux administration and Scripting.
  • Experience in Computer programming languages like Java, C++, C#, and python.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written communication.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse group of students and staff required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Technology and Workforce Development.



  • Bachelor in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems with Scripting and Programming background, OR 
  • A minimum of four (4) years’ work experience in Coding and Scripting.


  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.
  • Security+ certified.
  • Professional experience in military or government Cyber Security technology.


SALARY: $783.00 per credit hour

WORK SCHEDULE: Must be able to work variable schedule/hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours. Your appointment is contingent on sufficient enrollments, or on program and scheduling changes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, talk, hear, walk, and sit. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift items.
