TECHNICAL ASSISTANT – AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLGY

Reporting directly to the Director of Technical Education, the Cashier/Receptionist will be responsible for:
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  1. Greets and directs guests, students, faculty and other staff.
  2. Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate person.
  3. Providing information about the Automotive Program to callers and walk-in guest.
  4. Receives, sorts, and forwards incoming mail. Maintains company mailboxes.
  5. Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of FedEx, mail, and packages.
  6. Assists in the ordering , receiving, stocking and distribution of office, tool room and parts supplies
  7. Provides callers with information such as company fax, telephone, directions to the school, school website etc.
  8. Will assist with related clerical duties such as faxing, filing, photocopying and collating.
  9. Receive payments from customers and post payments in the data system.
  10. Close out cash drawer daily and prepare deposits

 
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
 

  1. May assist in receiving monies from students and recording receipts in data base.
  2. Will perform  other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 

  1. Excellent Verbal and communication skills.
  2. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
  3. Good decision making and processing skills
  4. Effective communication skills in dealing with complex situations.
  5. Ability to type 40 words per minute.

  
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
 

  1. High School Diploma or GED required. Secretarial coursework or A.A - Preferred.
  2. One year of relevant experience and/or training required.
  3. Customer service experience required
  4. Cashiering experience preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

  2. Visual ability sufficient to operate computer, telephone and cash register.

 
SALARY:                $24,213.49
 
If a current KCKCC employee is selected for this position, consideration will be given to his/her current salary.
