Kansas City Kansas Community College is searching for Adjunct faculty for the Spring 2014 Semester who are creative, open to change, have a passion for learning, and are willing to promote the mission of the College. 
 
The Technical Education Center is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach Machine Technology for the Spring 2014 Semester at the Technical Education Center. 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
 
  1. Provide a positive learning atmosphere
  2. Plan and organize class and shop activities
  3. Develop appropriate curriculum
  4. Select appropriate materials, audio-visual aids and equipment. Use effective instructional procedures and methods
  5. Participate in student leadership activities
  6. Supervision of students in class and school wide
  7. Evaluate student progress as related to learning objectives. Maintain appropriate records
  8. Follow appropriate safety procedures in shop areas. Maintain equipment
  9. Cooperate with the admission, counseling and placement staff
  10. Participate in advisory meetings, staff meetings and school wide activities including program and school wide evaluation
  11. Attend classes, workshops, and seminars as needed for professional development
  12. Meet all program requirements to maintain current program specific accreditation if available
  13. Complete other assignments and responsibilities as requested by the TEC Director of Dean
 
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
 
 
  1. Knowledge of Machine Work Technology Standards and Regulations
  2. Knowledge of print reading and operating machine repair and maintenance standards
  3. Must have a minimum of two years’ work experience in Machine Technology Industry
  4. Must be NIMMS CertifieD
 
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
 
 
  1. Associates Degree in Education or related field  preferred
  2. 1-2 years teaching/training experience
 
POSITION AVAILABLE:      January, 2015                        
 
SALARY:                               $735.00/per credit hour
