DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

Reporting directly to the Dean of Enrollment Management and Registrar, the Director of Admissions shall be responsible to the Dean of Enrollment Management & Registrar for the following duties:
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Oversee the overall operations of the Admissions Department to include full and part-time personnel.
  2. Develop, execute, and access office policies, procedures, and data processing systems of the Admissions Office.
  3. Correspond with students by using multiple mediums.
  4. Submit department budget and monitor spending.
  5. Work with Athletic Department on Athletic Certification.
  6. Serve on various college committees.
  7. Scan and link student records.
  8. Ensure that all applications are processed including, Home schooled students, English as a Second Language students, International Students, House Bill 2145 Undocumented Students and all other students as needed.
  9. Answer inquires about the college by international students, resident aliens and domestic students.
  10. Update application materials for both domestic and international students.
  11. Monitor Mandatory Health Insurance Program for F1 Students.
  12. Update International Student Handbook.
  13. Stay current on Federal Regulations as they pertain to international students.
  14. Monitor International students’ academic progress each semester.
  15. Maintain the college is reporting requirements for I-17 issuance.
  16. Keep international students informed of USCIS regulations.
  17. Dissemination of USCIS policy changes to the general campus community as required.
  18. Have a thorough knowledge of the current immigration regulations and intent of the law and a thorough knowledge of academic policies at KCKCC. Lead the campus in understanding that the college needs to set academic policies that work with F1 regulations.
  19. Compile data and submit monthly reports to document activities and an annual summary to highlight accomplishments to the Dean of Enrollment Management/Registrar.
 
 
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
  1. Additional duties as assigned by the Dean of Enrollment Management/Registrar.
  2. Maintain the Solomon Amendment in reference to military recruiting lists.
  3. Maintain the International student web page and Admissions web page.
  4. Develop and maintain close working relationship with key secondary school constituents.
  5. Reporting requirements of the SEVIS system for international students.
 
CONSULTING TASKS
  1. Work collaboratively with all KCKCC departments to address the needs and concerns of domestic and international students.
  2. Work with Student Advising Office to provide support to degree completion students that is consistent with established policy and procedures.
  3. Assist with day, evening and weekend enrollment and registration activities.
  4. Assist in setting up and conducting surveys to determine marketing strategies.
  5. Assist in planning and organizing all enrollments at KCKCC.
  6. Assist with the college’s compliance with FERPA and other federal regulations.
  7. Assist with the marketing/recruitment plan.
 
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Supervise the Admissions Specialists.
  2. Supervise the designated Admissions Office staff (Main Campus and TEC).
  3. Supervise Admissions application functions at all locations.
  4. Part-time application input position.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  1. Ability to operate a computer in areas as Desktop Publishing, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
  2. Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Ability to work well with individuals with varying personality traits, abilities, and capabilities, both on the telephone and in person.
  4. Must be able to handle difficult situations with diplomacy.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all matters and information.
  6. Must possess a pleasant telephone demeanor and ability to answer questions about the college with a sense of pride.
  7. Must have the ability to organize work well and operate with composure under the pressure of deadlines.
  8. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, and to initiate and work on projects independently, as time permits.
  9. Must be flexible enough to work on more than one project at a time.
  10. Working knowledge of a web-based student information system – DATATEL preferred.
  11. Experience with production of a variety of media (social media) promotional literature and display materials.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  1. Master’s degree required.
  2. Minimum of three years’ experience in admissions functions, supervision of full and part-time personnel, and work in higher education setting.
  3. Must possess an understanding of institutional marketing strategies.
  4. Must have a working knowledge of all laws, policies, and procedures related to an Admissions Office and all students’ records required.
  5. Must have the ability to work well with individuals with various backgrounds, abilities, capabilities, including prospective students, current students, parents/spouses, high school counselors, faculty, staff, the public, and others.
  6. Must possess skills in time management and problem solving.
  7. Must have ability to make rational, intelligent, and fair decisions.
  8. Must possess good organizational skills.
  9. Must be able to work under pressure of deadlines and with minimal supervision.
  10. Must keep all matters of the office confidential.
  11. Familiarity with the SEVIS system.

SALARY:                $61,098.52
