Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, the Academic Support Coordinator is a full-time position that is responsible for analyzing needs, developing curriculum and implementing college-wide plan for computer and technology training for faculty and staff.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and determine training needs for computer workstations for faculty and staff to create training schedules with hardware/software implementations/upgrades.
  • Develop a curriculum that acknowledges diversity of skills, knowledge, and levels of computer & technology literacy present in faculty and staff college-wide.
  • Submit annual budget for activities and training opportunities to the Chief Information Officer.
  • Create a calendar of training workshops each semester for faculty and staff.
  • Design and prepare educational aids.
  • Conduct training classes and provide one-on-one consulting.
  • Develop technical training programs/sessions in MS Office and academic desktop applications.
  • Implement and maintain online and self-paced technical training for staff and faculty.
  • Plan for future needs and revisions, working closely with the Chief Information Officer to set strategic goals of technology training on campus.
  • Plan, design, and support instructional technology solutions on campus.
  • Train faculty and staff on the use of media and information technologies.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Develop content and provide training to external companies as contracted.
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Previous experience in an educational environment preferred.
  • Degree of computer and technology literacy that would enable the incumbent to work well with constituencies to sufficiently understand needs and set goals for technology training college-wide.
  • Experience in developing curriculum for technical training.
  • Experience in course, program, and instructional evaluation.
  • Team work and goal-setting skills.
  • Experience in conducting needs analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with office applications and business products on MS Windows. Apple Mac platforms are highly desirable.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology or related field required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Three years of computer applications or closely related training experience required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
 

Physical activities will involve:

  • Standing or sitting for long periods of time.
  • Using hands/fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
  • Communication activities which may include speaking, hearing, and seeing.

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SALARY: $42,500.00 - $47,500.00 annually
