The Coordinator of Finance and Scholarships reports to the Foundation Executive Director.  The position is responsible for the processing and maintaining of financial data and records of Donors and scholarships.  The position will also be responsible for the following:
 
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Process and maintain financial data using Foundation Quickbooks software
  2. Reconcile Foundation bank accounts and produce monthly financial statements
  3. Plan and assist with Alumni events and growing alumni association population
  4. Keep scholarship donors up-to-date and involved concerning awarding and balances
  5. Interact with College Bookstore for book vouchers related to scholarship awards
  6. Investigate and respond to sponsors, vendors, college administration and other inquiries for information or assistance
  7. Work with Executive Director for events, alumni and development activities
  8. Create and manage database
  9. Inform students of available scholarships, application process and manage the entire scholarship business process
  10. Assist with the Mid America Hall of Fame Dinner, scholarship award process, alumni events, board and committee meetings
  11. Create thank you letters and tax donation letters for donors to be signed by the Executive Director
  12. Perform other duties assigned by Executive Director

CONSULTING TASKS

  1. Assisting with answering the telephone and taking messages for Foundation Personnel
  2. Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. QuickBooks proficient, working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) and Ellucian financial software program preferred
  2. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  3. Ability to work well with individuals with various backgrounds, personality traits, and capabilities
  4. Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills
  5. Ability to complete projects efficiently and accurately with a high volume of work.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, by telephone, or by e-mail
  7. Must be able to pass criminal background investigation
  8. Superior customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  9. Ability to maintain confidentiality

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   Visual ability sufficient to process requests for purchase, perform computer and check writing operations and identify students against their student identification card.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s preferred
  2. Two years of experience performing various accounting duties and in the use of computerized accounting software including QUICKBOOKS and EXCEL
  3. Experience with ELLUCIAN Colleague preferred
FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt
 
SALARY: $40,000 - $43,000 per year ($19.23-20.67) plus fringe benefits
