JOB PURPOSE:
Full-time Theatre Faculty

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach acting classes as well as other performance related courses, based on department needs and faculty member's specialties.
  • Provide producing support for department and student shows.
  • Provide play selection appropriate to current students and resources as well as audience development in collaboration with department faculty.
  • Maintain class records and class assessment requirements on the college Learning Management System, which is currently Blackboard.
  • Be available to students by maintaining office hours as outlined in the Master Contract.
  • Available to work nights and weekends occasionally as warranted by Theatre Department schedule.
  • Collaboration on all Theatre Department matters.
  • Collaboration in Theatre Department and Drama Club fundraising.
  • Participate in Theatre Department recruiting efforts.
  • Collaboration in Theatre Department strategic planning.
  • Collaboration with existing faculty.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Master's Degree or greater in Theatre Performance, Directing, or Dramaturgy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Master's Degree or greater in Theatre Performance, Directing, or Dramaturgy.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift items. The employee is directly responsible for safety, wellbeing, and work output.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

SALARY: Compensation is commensurate with education and experience per the Master Contract.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Must be able to work a variable schedule/varying hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours; as needed.
