Position type: Part Time - not to exceed 29 hours per week.
FLSA Status: Non- Exempt

JOB PURPOSE:
Provide high quality customer service to the College and job applicants. Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. Oversee and maintain employee personnel records.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining confidentiality in all matters and concerns regarding the division and the College.
  • Serving as the initial contact for employees, students, and visitors via telephone or coming to the Human Resources office and assuring positive interaction occurs.
  • Maintaining filing system and performing regular filing duties for the Human Resources Office.
  • Update and maintain all personnel records active and inactive for Human Resources.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer or the Employee Relations Manager.
  • Serves as backup to coordinate and maintain the Leave Request Online and Weekly Absence Report (WAR).
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to maintain confidentially.
  • Must have organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with staff.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in cooperation with other office staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 1-year experience in an office clerical environment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

SALARY:   $11.57 per hour.
 

WORK SCHEDULE:

Must be able to work a variable schedule/varying hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours; as needed.
