Job Title Adjunct Faculty Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Instructor

Reports to: CAD Coordinator

Position Type: Part-time Adjunct Faculty

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

 

Job Purpose:

Instruct Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)-related courses for A.A.S. degree and Certificate Programs. Classes start Spring 2019.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively teach course content and maintain grades in Blackboard course shell.
  • Evaluated student progress as related to learning objectives and complete grade reporting requirements at mid-term and final in Web Advisor.
  • Complete assessment requirements in conjunction with the CAD coordinator.
  • Attend CAD department meetings when possible.
  • Assist with student recruitment, advising and retention when possible.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience with AutoCAD, Revit and related industries.
  • Experience with Inventor, Solidworks, Bluebeam, Microstation, ArcGIS, and other CAD/Engineering related technologies preferred but not required.
  • Entry level CAD skills for graphic visualization including geometric construction techniques, isometrics, perspectives, obliques, and multi-views.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with computer applications
  • Be able to articulate an understanding of and appreciation for an urban comprehensive and open door community college.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
 

  • Master’s degree in Technology Education or a related field with18 graduate hours in the subject or closely related subject area is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Community college teaching experience.
  • Campus online and blended class experience.
  • Assignments that involve teaching at least one course per semester for the CAD Associate of Arts & Science Degree as well as CAD Certificate Programs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
 

COMPENSATION:  $783.00 per credit hour.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Must be able to work a variable schedule/varying hours to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend hours; as needed.
