ADMISSIONS SPECIALIST (Emphasis on Prospects)

Reporting directly to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Specialist shall be responsible for the following duties:
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  1. Work collaboratively with Deans, Program Coordinators, and other faculty in the recruitment of prospective students through scheduled high school visits and other recruitment activities.
  2. Coordinate and invite faculty to participate in all recruitment activities and visits.
  3. Establish a database of schools and develop a relationship with the respective contact person at the designated middle schools and high schools and share with faculty as requested.
  4. Coordinate recruitment processes for prospective student, input inquiries, generate letters and send out mailings.
  5. Coordinate and manage designated college fairs.
  6. Accurately enter prospect data, applications, query, intranet, internet and email inquiries along with accurately answering inquiries to the Admissions mailbox.
  7. Responsible for computer input of concurrent enrollment program
  8. Distribute enrollment information to high schools and surrounding areas.
  9. Scanning and linking student information.
  10. Keep monthly reports of recruitment activities.
  11. Serve on college committees as appropriate and approved by Supervisor.
 
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
 
  1. Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and/or the Dean of Enrollment Management/Registrar.
 
CONSULTING TASKS
 
  1. Assist with campus visits.
  2. Assist with day, evening and weekend advising, enrollment and registration activities.
  3. Assisting with preparation of reports related to student recruitment and retention activities.
  4. Assist with development and distribution of a semester and annual calendar for High School visits
  5. Assisting with Student Ambassadors orientation process.
  6. Assist with the college’s compliance with FERPA and other federal regulations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 
  1. Ability to operate a computer in areas such as Desktop Publishing, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.
  2. Strong public speaking skills, good oral and written communications skills and the ability to provide high attention to customer service.
  3. Ability and willingness to provide high attention to customer service
  4. Superior interpersonal skills which facilitate working with individuals of various abilities and capabilities, from various ethnic, cultural and age groups.
  5. Prefer an individual with a commitment to community college education and one or two years experience.
  6. Must have enthusiasm, creativity and a commitment to working cooperatively.
  7. Must be able to work independently and within a team setting and meet deadlines.
  8. Working knowledge of an integrated student information system – DATATEL preferred.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
 
  1. Bachelor’s degree required.
  2. Supervisory experience preferred.
  3. Minimum of one to two years experience preferred.
  4. Valid Driver’s License – some travel, evening and weekend hours.
  5. Bilingual a plus.

SALARY:                     $27,493.33
