Job title: Sports Professional for Kids on Campus
Reports to: Director and Activity Director, Kids on Campus
Supervises: Team Leaders and Participants in Program
Position type: Part-time Temporary

JOB PURPOSE: 
Reports directly to the Director and Assistant Director. The Sports Professional is directly responsible for his/her sports activity. He/she will supervise his/her group at all times during the program. This single posting will be used to fill five Part-Time Temporary- Sports Professional for Kids on Campus position.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend orientation and staff meetings.
  • Shall have ultimate responsibility of all group members while instructing various sports and activities.
  • Supervise groups in all activities.
  • Attend and participate with participant orientation.
  • Report promptly to the Assistant Director any difficult situations which may arise with participants.
  • Assist with the supervision of special events/and or field trips.
  • Take safety precautions at all times and report all accidents to the Camp Nurse.
  • Maintain an attitude conducive to constructive group interaction among all participants.
  • Build team unity, spirit, identity, organization, and loyalty.
  • Wear Kids on Campus staff shirt daily with appropriate sportswear.
  • Be responsible for the equipment, setup/teardown, and water distribution each day.
  • Ability to withstand variable weather conditions.
  • Knowledge and ability to play a variety of sports.
  • Ability to work well with youth.
  • Ability to motivate and maintain discipline in a positive manner with youth.
  • Must possess high energy level and be creative and enthusiastic.
  • Must be flexible and cooperative.
  • Must be prompt, reliable, and able to follow directions.
  • Must possess strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
  • Show empathy, compassion and good judgment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with youth.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear motor vehicle record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EDUCATION:

  • College coursework and/or Associates’ Degree in Child Development, Education, Physical Education or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of organized sports.

SALARY RANGE: $11.57 per hour.

 

WORK SCHEDULE: Camp Operation Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hours to meet operational needs.
