HR GENERALIST-COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
 
We are looking to add an experienced Human Resource Generalist to our team. The preferred candidate will have previous experience in maintaining knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure federal, state and government agencies’ compliance, communicates changes in college personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper submission, participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. Assists in the implementation and annual compensation program updates; rewrites job description and monitor performance evaluation program.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
COMPENSATION PROGRAMS:
  1. Research, develop, implement and manage compensation programs and strategies to attract and retain the best talent for the college.
    1. Gathering the background information needed for project developing compensation structures, determine external market data and get the data ready, conduct the market data analysis.
    2. Developing the pay structures and calculate the costs of the pay structures.
    3. Implementing and evaluating the new pay structures.
  2. Prepare occupational classifications (including FLSA classifications), job descriptions, and salary structure.
  3. Establish salary forecasting process and conduct salary equity evaluations.
  4. Develop and support administration of the Incentive Compensation Programs.
  5. Work closely with management in solving compensation and benefit issues. Provide feedback on how existing programs are working, revisions needed and new processes.
  6. Participate in change management projects including Benefits and Compensation analysis and transitional mapping.
  7. Implement and maintain all compensation/benefit policies and procedures in compliance with Federal, State, local laws, regulations, and college policies.
  8. Provide required and requested compensation reports.
  9. Maintain knowledge and expertise on compensation trends, changes and laws to ensure compliance
  10. Oversee leave programs (FMLA, STD/LTD) in accordance with internal policies and the appropriate regulations.

BENEFITS PROGRAMS
  1. Partner with insurance brokers and plan carriers and manage employee service concerns.
  2. Responsible for mastering the HRIS system to ensure compliance, increase technology use in the compensation and performance management process.
  3. Process internal and external correspondence related to Benefits.
  4. Determines eligibility for insurance and/or LOA, manages insurance payments; assistance of HR Director.
  5. Responsible for assisting in the delivery of health and welfare benefit plans & related programs to employees.
  6. Outstanding customer service skills is required in this position as well as the ability to interact with all levels of employees.
  7. Manage benefit overview for new hires.
  8. Provide benefit information to retirees and support their transition.
  9. Assist in processing and reconciling monthly premium bills.
  10. Assist and resolves issues for employees related to their benefit plans.
  11. Administer and plan benefits seminars, benefits fairs, wellness programs and overall employee benefit.
  12. Coach, mentor and train managers and coworkers on various compensation/benefits processes and procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  1. Must exhibit professionalism and be able to communicate well, both orally and in written form.
  2. Must possess the ability to organize and initiate office operations according to needs.
  3. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Publisher), SAP, Datatel, Colleague, Datatel or some other HRIS system
  4. Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related matters.
  5. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and with diverse individuals and groups.
  6. Must be able to work under the pressure of deadlines.
  7. Must exhibit sound and accurate judgments.
  8. Extensive knowledge of state/federal laws and regulations that affect employment required.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  1. Qualified Candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Personnel Administration, Management, Business Administration or related field required.
  2. Master’s degree and/or PHR/ SPHR certified preferred.
  3. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 5-7 years of Human Resource Generalist experience.
  4. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years Compensation experience.
  5. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 3-5 years Benefits Administration experience.
  6. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years HRIS experience.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

SALARY:                 $50, 000-55,000 /per year, plus fringe benefits  (If a current KCKCC employee is selected for this position, consideration will be given to his/her current salary.)
