COORDINATOR OF THE CENTER FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE

The Coordinator of the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) assists with implementation of the three pillars of the Center for Teaching Excellence: Craft of Teaching, Academic Assessment, and Academic Discourse.  This full-time, 12-month staff position reports directly to the Faculty Director of the CTE.    
 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General responsibilities
  1. Produce and maintain minutes for all CTE meetings
  2. Provide access to and maintain appropriate usage of CTE space
  3. Maintain calendar of CTE activities
  4. Keep campus community abreast of pertinent CTE news
  5. Other duties as assigned by the Faculty Director of the CTE or Staff Co-Coordinator of Academic Assessment
 
Craft of Teaching
  1. Schedule, coordinate and market professional learning presentations
 
Academic Assessment
  1. Support Co-Coordinators of Academic Assessment
  2. Maintain Online Outcomes Assessment and Rubric (formerly Student Competency Index) housed on myDotte
  3. Assist Faculty Assessment Leaders with data collection and report production
  4. Collect reports and supporting documentation from Faculty Assessment Leaders
  5. Prepare and disseminate materials to assist faculty with development of effective, meaningful and manageable assessment strategies
  6. Work with Institutional Effectiveness to facilitate support of faculty in assessment of student learning
 
Academic Discourse
  1. Schedule, coordinate and market Critical Issues and Academic Symposium presentations
  2. Collaborate with the Faculty Director of the CTE to identify the need for other speakers, presentations and workshops relevant to the mission of the CTE.
 
Qualification Requirements 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duty satisfactorily.   1. Ability to work effectively with faculty and administration.
  2. Must be familiar with data entry and type a minimum of 60 words per minute.  Typing test required.
  3. Ability to use the following software packages: Windows, Excel or Access, E-Mail, Internet, and Powerpoint.
  4. Ability to learn institution-specific software applications (ex: Student Competency Index).
  5. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and interruptions.
  6. Establish and maintain deadlines.
  7. Adapt to a creative work schedule to meet the needs of the CTE
 
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  1. Bachelor degree required; Master degree preferred.
  2. At least 2 years college teaching experience required, either full time or adjunct, and/or at least 5 years directly supporting faculty.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires individuals to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and staff.
 
 
SALARY:    $37,500 – $47,500
 (If a current KCKCC employee is selected for this position, consideration will be given to their current salary.)
